Happy International Women’s Day.
As I type that, I do find it odd. Huh?! Let me explain…
I say that as I’ve always felt the equality throughout my life.
It might start with my father and late uncle teaching me the necessary etiquette and mannerisms when respecting women at a very early age. But I feel that those teachings came to life from four who I’m very fortunate to have in my life.

Having being raised by a wonderfully strong, loving mother, I was taught what it meant to respect and care for women.
My cheeky, highly intelligent sister, keeping me sane since she came into our lives, teaching me the value of how to balance my views and be fully inclusive.
Being married to a more than equal partner-in-life, my fantastic wife for many years, who has shown me the powerful, positive effect of collaboration, something I always attempt to weave in my personal and professional life.
And not forgetting my incredible daughter who, like my two sons, remain my motivation, inspiration, and joy to each and every day we are privileged to live on this fragile world.
I’m not naive. I absolutely recognise the many challenges women have had to overcome. But this post is to recognise all those women who empowered women to greater things and men to supporting them and giving them opportunities.
This post is more to look forward to the day when this becomes the new norm. The new norm when women can truly focus on their dreams and aspirations, without discrimination, to not be preoccupied with issues that might relate to their gender.
So, again, wishing everyone International Women’s Day, in the hope this becomes the new norm and this equality will realise new outcomes, successes and achievements.
